[Chorus] If you’re gonna tell me no, then you’d better have a reason, you’d better have a reason to say, if you wanna take it slow, then you’d best give me a reason to stay [Verse 1] You walk in here like you think you already know how this is gonna go but You don’t know what it is, what it is to be alone I’m tired of waiting on you, to do the things you say you’ll do, [Chorus] [Verse 2] You think you’ve got the upper hand, I’m gonna take a stand you’re gonna need a soft place to land, you’ve gotta understand I’m tired of leaning on you, to do the things I need to do, [Chorus] [Verse 3] You’ve been trying hard to take control, You’ve gotta let it go my life is mine to know, go live your own I’m tired of fighting with you, I know what I need to do, [Double Chorus]
2.
Pardon Me 03:44
[Chorus] Pardon me in advance for anything I might do or say today, I wouldn't wanna hurt you that way, so Pardon Me, Pardon me [Verse 1] Get out of bed around quarter to seven, creep down the stairs, there he is in that easy chair, smiles, asks “How did you sleep?” and he says [Chorus] [Verse 2] He's out the door around quarter to eight, to build our childhood dreams. Heads down the path to that old wood shop, turns and waves back at me, and he says [Chorus] [Bridge] Gather your things, it's time to go, and he stands at the door with a tear in his eye, he says, “You are my angel and I'll see you soon”, oh but till then, [Chorus] [Tag] Pardon me, pardon me.
3.
[Verse 1] White lace and green grass, crystal sky and sea of glass. tall trees and dark stone, and you waiting down below I'm on my way down to you, I'm coming home [1/2 Chorus] So take my hand and walk with me a while, where the ocean meets the sand. [Verse 2] Flower petals and bands of gold, and words of stories yet untold warm sun and sea breeze, and sweet whispered melodies I'm on my way down to you, I made it through [Chorus] So take my hand and walk with me a while, where the ocean meets the sand, it's gonna take some practice, but together we'll write the most beautiful song and when you make that promise, well forever doesn't seem too long, so take my hand and walk with me a lifetime, where the ocean meets the sand [Bridge]] There may be storm clouds in the distance, and we might feel some pain, but why give up a lifetime of happiness for just a little bit of rain [Chorus] [Tag] Where the ocean meets the sand
4.
My Truth 04:02
[Verse 1] I'm awakened by your teardrops in the shadowed light of dawn, we know it, there's no secret, we don't have too long you don't need to tell me I've been slipping away, I don't remember who I was, but I know I'm not the same [Verse 2] I've been clinging to the edge of something deep and dark and black, and If I let go, I'll never find my way back, back to you [Chorus] I'll keep a map of my failures etched on my heart, the things I did and should have done, but the light is always stronger than the dark, and if I trace the lines back one by one, I'll find you, My Truth [Verse 3] Don't mistake my indifference, I want to stay I've tried magic pills and needles, I've tried blind faith I wonder how it happened that I lost myself so fast, looking for the answers, but I don't know what to ask, all I know is you [Chorus] [Tag] I’ll find you, my truth
5.
[Verse 1] It’s been almost a year since I got on that plane, and I miss you a little bit more each day in those desperate moments when I forget your face, and the way you say my name [Chorus] I Close my eyes, and I remember, singing with the windows down, flying through the dark, conversations whispered low, and Ice cream in Central Park [Verse 2] Well our two worlds collided and we would go out each day, and in our late-night confessions we would talk without shame, in between your words I hear more than you say, and I wish you’d stay the same [Chorus] [Verse 3] It’s been over two years since I got off that plane, and somehow I managed to make it okay, sometimes when I’m dreaming I remember your face and the way you’d say my name, I wish you’d say my name [Chorus + 1/2 chorus] [Tag] And ice cream in central park

about

These songs are a culmination of a complicated journey through places and emotions. From lyrics scribbled on a napkin in a dirty and crowded restaurant while Heather was living in Lima Peru, to a song written after returning to Canada, unsure of how to re-adjust to her new old life, this EP pays tribute to the little, seemingly inconsequential things: Those moments in time that seem so small and yet, much later, we realize they have left their indelible mark. Recorded on Vancouver Island, a stellar group of musicians from across Canada round out the songs with an exquisite blend of intricacy and intimacy.
